The Stelvio car: a manual 911, specified once

A 911 crossing the Stelvio Pass

Order the Carrera with a manual gearbox, the smaller wheels, and no options you cannot explain in one sentence. Then drive it where it was tuned: over the Stelvio at dawn, down to Bormio for coffee, and home by lunch. A car kept for one road is a car kept well.

Sixty-two feet of sloop, four days of weather

A sailing yacht in northern waters

Charter in Lofoten is routed by forecast, not itinerary. The skipper has fished these waters for forty years and cooks what the day provides. Cabins are small, the silence is not, and the light in June does not entirely leave.

Short fields, high valleys

For the Alps, the useful aeroplane is a turboprop that takes a short, high runway: Bern to Samedan in under an hour, against half a day by road. Range, runway length and payload decide the type, and they are examined here as engineering, as with every machine in Objects. The Maison arranges no charter and takes no enquiries; this is an examination, not a service.
